Arash Ashkar was born in winter 1989, in Shiraz, the capital city of Persian art and culture. As a child, he was so much interested in paintings that he got familiar with several painting styles and participated at different graphic courses. In his teens, he found himself especially interested in black and white spaces, niello paintings and conceptual art in graphics. During his youth, the camera entered his world, opening a new horizon to his mind, a window through which he could visualize the realm beyond his eyes. This caused his interest in styles such as Surrealism and Hyper Realism, leading to his success.
Black and white spaces as well as the square frames are repeated motifs of Arash's works, terrifying spaces which suggest a simple but at the same time complicated concept as a secret, the one which you are inclined to decode. The problem rises right here when you are introduced to another new story behind the secret you were just about to unwrap, you are only at the start point!
Arash Ashkar has been awarded several times at Photo Festivals in Hormozgan and Birjand. He has also been selected as the chosen person by public at the Second Photo Festival of Persbook, and the selected artist at the First Art Expo Photo Festival, and Art Pill of America and several other national and international festivals.
He has also hold several art exhibitions, one named "Destruction of a Dream" with Samad Ghorbanzade, and another a group work exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Isfahan, named "Borderless"( The second Persbook photo festival winners).He is also a trainer at professional photography classes, trying to train conceptual photography and creativity. He has always regarded himself to be at the beginning of the path, attempting to achieve a whole new perspective in photography.
